For larger sand filters, it is recommended to place coarse filter glass at the bottom and combine it with fine filter glass for maximum filtration efficiency.
Determining the amount of filter glass: When calculating the required amount of filter glass, you may use 15% less than filter sand. For larger filters, use a combination of coarse and fine filter glass in a ratio of 5 to 1, with the coarse filter glass always placed at the bottom. This combination is recommended for optimum performance in swimming pools above 100 kg of filter medium.
