Intex Krystal Clear saltwater system up to 8m³

Enjoy clean and clear pool water with less manual chlorine dosing thanks to the Intex Krystal Clear QS200 saltwater system. This compact saltwater system has been specially developed for smaller above-ground pools with a water capacity of up to approximately 8,327 liters (8.3 m³).

The system uses electrolysis to convert dissolved pool salt into active chlorine. As a result, the pool water is continuously disinfected during the set operating period. The system produces a maximum of 2 grams of chlorine per hour and thereby helps to prevent the growth of bacteria and algae.

Disinfecting your pool with salt

Instead of constantly adding chlorine tablets manually, with a saltwater system you add the correct amount of pool salt to the water.

The salt dissolves in the pool water. Next, the water flows via the filter pump through the electrolysis cell of the Krystal Clear system. Here, a portion of the salt is converted into chlorine, which is used to disinfect the pool water.

The salt does not simply disappear from the pool. Under normal conditions, you therefore do not need to constantly add new salt. Salt mainly needs to be replenished when water is lost due to backwashing, leaks, splashing, or partially refreshing the pool water.

Suitable for pools up to 8,327 liters

The QS200 is developed for smaller pools with a maximum capacity of 8,327 liters. Intex states that the system is suitable for, among others, smaller rectangular pools and round pools up to approximately Ø 366 cm, provided the actual water volume remains within the maximum capacity.

For a pool of, for example, 5,000 to 8,000 liters, this is therefore a compact solution for automatic chlorine production.

Chlorine production of 2 grams per hour

The Intex QS200 produces a maximum of 2 grams of chlorine per hour. Production takes place when pool water flows through the electrolysis cell.

How long you should let the system run daily depends on factors including the amount of water, water temperature, weather conditions, amount of sunlight, and the intensity of pool use.

Therefore, also check the water values regularly when using a saltwater system.

Works with your filter pump

It is important to know that the QS200 is not a replacement for a filter pump. The saltwater system disinfects the water, while the filter pump is responsible for water circulation and removing dirt.

Intex specifies that the filter pump used must have a flow rate between:

Minimum: 1,136 liters/hour
Maximum: 3,785 liters/hour

The system is placed in the water circulation after the filter pump.

This makes the QS200 well suited for use with various smaller Intex cartridge filter pumps.

32 mm connection

The Intex Krystal Clear QS200 saltwater system features a 32 mm connection. This allows the system to connect well to many smaller Intex Easy Set, Frame, and Prism Frame pools that also use 32 mm pool hoses.

Do you have a pool installation with a different pipe diameter? Then additional adapters may be necessary.

Self-cleaning salt cell

During electrolysis, limescale can build up on the electrodes of a saltwater system. The QS200 therefore features a self-cleaning function.

Intex specifies one self-cleaning mode for the QS200 with a 10-hour cycle. This reduces the maintenance required for the electrolysis cell.

Automatic 24-hour cycle

The QS200 also features a 24-hour automatic clock cycle. Once the system is correctly set, the daily operation can be repeated automatically.

This means you do not need to manually switch the saltwater system on and off every day.

How much salt do you need?

For this system, approximately 3 kg of salt per 1,000 liters of pool water is recommended. That corresponds to approximately 3 grams of salt per liter of water.

A pool of:

5,000 liters → approximately 15 kg of salt
6,000 liters → approximately 18 kg of salt
7,000 liters → approximately 21 kg of salt
8,000 liters → approximately 24 kg of salt

Use suitable pool salt for this and always check the Intex instructions before you start using the system.

Less manual chlorine dosing

With the Intex Krystal Clear QS200 saltwater system up to 8 m³, you automate an important part of water treatment. Add the correct salt level, let the water circulate through a suitable filter pump, and the electrolysis cell will automatically produce chlorine.

With a maximum pool capacity of 8,327 liters, chlorine production of 2 grams per hour, 32 mm connections, and automatic daily operation, the QS200 is primarily an attractive solution for smaller Intex above-ground pools.
